On 14 April, the Premier Palace in Kyiv hosted the latest inter-committee meeting of the Association of Ukrainian Corporate Counsellors, which brought together members of the Association’s board and committee chairs to discuss current issues and projects currently being handled by Association members.
During the discussion, Oleh Malsky focused on preparations for the AUCR IT conference and the committee’s work on its concept. Initial ideas regarding an online format were revised in favour of an offline conference as a more effective platform for professional interaction and the exchange of experience.
The speaker placed particular emphasis on the content of the upcoming conference, which centres on Legal Tech and the impact of artificial intelligence on legal practice. Working group participants discussed key challenges: rapid technological advancement outpacing regulation, issues of plagiarism and data usage, as well as the limits of AI application in legal work.
Furthermore, the ETERNA LAW partner emphasised that a significant portion of the discussions centred on the practical implementation of AI in the corporate environment — from the creation of internal AI bots to the automation of legal research and knowledge management. It was also noted that companies are increasingly seeking to adapt technologies to their own needs, taking into account security and confidentiality requirements.
In conclusion, the speaker emphasised the need to systematise the Ukrainian LegalTech market and establish a platform for presenting existing solutions and start-ups. He called on participants to get involved in preparing for the conference and to jointly develop approaches to the use of AI in legal practice that would meet the current challenges facing the profession.
