During the event, Oleg Malsky took part in a panel discussion entitled “Insurance and Banking Markets of Ukraine: Prospects for Future Growth”, alongside Andriy Pyshnyy, Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine. The discussion focused on the prospects for the development of Ukraine’s insurance and banking sectors in the context of post-war recovery and attracting investment.
During his presentation, Oleg Malsky shared his experience of advising on a successful case involving the acquisition of a Ukrainian bank — JSC “FIRST INVESTMENT BANK” — by the foreign investor ZEN.COM. The transaction was carried out as part of the procedure for removing an insolvent bank from the market, with the involvement of the Deposit Guarantee Fund for Individuals, and involved multi-level regulatory and transactional support.
We would like to thank the organisers of URC 2026 for the invitation, and our fellow panellists for a substantive and professional dialogue and the opportunity to discuss practical tools for attracting investment, enhancing the resilience of the financial system and creating the conditions for Ukraine’s long-term economic growth.
