Kyiv, February 16 – Alina Podolyak, attorney-at-law, spoke as an expert at the IX All-Ukrainian School of Intellectual Property Law, organized by Kyiv center of the UBA Student League. The speaker told participants how to use trademarks of competitors to promote their products and services on the Internet, and how to protect themselves.
Ms. Podolyak has focused on the modern forms of trademarks on the Internet, namely: domain names, meta tags, contextual advertising and social networks. The speaker has identified the criteria for determination of the existence of violation, as well as an assessment of the effectiveness of existing methods of protection.
