ETERNA LAW at Ukraine Law Day in London: Advancing Legal Foundations for Reconstruction

On Monday, April 28, 2025, Oleh Malskyy, Partner and Head of Corporate & M&A and International Trade at ETERNA LAW, and Oksana Kneychuk, Partner and Head of International Tax Planning and Corporate Structuring, participated in the inaugural Ukraine Law Day held at Middle Temple in London.
Organised with the support of the Embassy of Ukraine in the UK, the Ukrainian Bar Association, the Ukrainian National Bar Association, and Spilka, this was the first large-scale event in the UK dedicated exclusively to Ukrainian law. It provided a focused platform for Ukrainian and UK lawyers and policymakers to exchange insights on current legal developments in Ukraine and on cross-border issues arising in UK-based cases.
Panel discussions addressed:
  • Legal claims for war-related damages before national and international forums,
  • The role of English law in reconstruction and investment contracts,
  • Ukraine’s capital market reforms and evolving corporate governance landscape,
  • Family law challenges stemming from displacement and cross-border enforcement.
As a firm at the forefront of war-related litigation, ETERNA LAW has secured landmark judgments in Ukraine awarding damages to businesses affected by the conflict. We also actively engage with international initiatives, including the Register of Damage in The Hague, and advise on recognition and enforcement abroad.
The event coincided with the signing of the UK-Ukraine 100-Year Partnership Agreement, underscoring a new chapter in bilateral legal and strategic collaboration.
