Almaty – the 16th of August – Eterna Law (representative office in Almaty) announces the beginning of co-operation as a legal adviser with the Public Association “Academy of Preventive Medicine of Kazakhstan.”
In terms of cooperation with KAPM Eterna Law will provide necessary legal services for protection of the interests of the public association and its affiliated structures, as well as legal support for scientific research, entitled “A cross-sectional research of the socio-demographic and other determinants of Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease (COLD) among smokers, former smokers and those, who do not smoke cigarettes.”
This research is conducted by Mr Almaz Sharman – American scientist-physician of Kazakh origin, a specialist in the field of biomedical and health-demographic research, international health and hospital management.
Mr. Sharman has developed a methodology for studying the prevalence of HIV infection with the using of a national representative sample, which allowed the United Nations to review the extent of the pandemic, reducing the estimated number of HIV-infected people in the world to 7 million.
Academy of Preventive Medicine – a non-governmental organization founded in 1995 by a group of leading health professionals and medical scientists of Kazakhstan. The Academy is a multidisciplinary organization that brings together public health experts, clinicians and researchers in Kazakhstan.
The main task of the Academy of Preventive Medicine is to study the socio-economic determinants of health and to build strong organizational structure for the promotion of health, disease prevention, care and rehabilitation for people with disabilities, improving the quality of personal and social health of people in Kazakhstan through the implementation of the best international and local experience in healthcare.
